Frequently Asked Questions
What is CBD ?
Cannabidiol (CBD) is a naturally occurring compound found in the hemp plant, a plant with a rich history going back thousands of years. Today the therapeutic properties of CBD are being tested and confirmed by scientists and doctors around the world. A safe, non-addictive substance, CBD is one of more than a hundred “phytocannabinoids,” which are unique to hemp and endow the plant with its robust therapeutic profile.
How does CBD work ?
CBD interacts with our body in a variety of ways. One of the main ways is by mimicking and augmenting the effects of the compounds in our bodies called “endogenous cannabinoids” - so named because of their similarity to compounds found in the hemp plant. These “endocannabinoids” are part of what scientists refer to as the “endocannabinoid system.”
What is the Endocannabinoid system ?
The endocannabinoid system is a biochemical communication system in the human body, which plays a crucial role in regulating our physiology, mood, and everyday experience.
Is CBD legal ?
Under EU law, CBD is classed as a novel food and is 100% legal.
Will I get high from taking CBD ?
No. CBD is both non-toxic and non-intoxicating. It has no psychoactive properties and hence will not get you “high”
What's the difference between hemp and cannabis ?
