Understanding Our Products
Before we go into the product, here's a little video we did to explain how we got to the point of launching CBDirect
We set up CBDirect.ie with a goal of sourcing the best quality CBD products. This process never stops and whilst up to now we've concentrated on broad spectrum (0%THC) products, We've recently launched a full spectrum oil which has the full cannabinoid profile and gives us and our customers a wider choice to suit their needs.
All of our CBD comes from organic sources. The hemp plant loves to grow outdoors and although the climate in the US produces some fantastic stable produce, we are also now starting to get excellent quality hemp right here in the EU.
Most of our CBD is extracted using the Co2 extraction process which is the safest and most widely used methods of extraction. It is very effective because each compound can only be extracted under specific conditions hence slight changes in temperature or pressure in a supercritical state allows for fine-tuning the extraction of CBD and other desirable plant components.
As the pressure drops, a crude, waxy, CBD-rich substance, golden in color, separates from the gas and deposits into a collection vessel. Afterwards, the golden oil undergoes a process known as “winterization,” which purifies and refines the extract to increase its quality. The plant waxes, which are not appropriate to include in certain kinds of products, are filtered out, resulting in a safe, clean, CBD-rich oil that is free of chlorophyll.
We are also working with another manufacturer who produce our full spectrum product. They have a similar, but unique extraction process which cuts out some of the extra processes and delivers a finished product which lab reports show to retain higher levels of cannabinoids. We think it's the highest quality CBD oil available today and the feedback from our customers backs this up.
The extracted CBD is mixed with MCT (medium chain triglyceride) oil. MCT oil is an excellent carrier for the CBD providing many benefits in itself. It is easily absorbed and transported throughout the body and can be used as an instant source of energy or can be converted into ketones to fuel your brain. By consuming CBD via oil and administered sublingually (under the tongue) this increases the bio availability (amount of CBD your system can use straight away) and give you the best experience.
Why CBDirect ?
We have experimented with different people and different strengths and based on that feedback, we found the best results were from oils with strengths of 8% and above.
With this in mind we decided to introduce our first range @ 10%,15% and 20% and we feel that we’re delivering some of the best value and quality available to the Irish marketplace right now.
If you choose our products we're always available to discuss the efficacy you've experienced and if it's not the right fit we'll work with you to find the right solution for you. We're a family business, we can meet up with you, you can meet us at upcoming market stalls to be announced. We're here for the long haul and want to bring you along with us.
Understanding Dosages
CBD percentages can seem a little confusing at first but what you’re really looking for is the CBD content, usually stated in mg.
If you’re oil has 1000mg of cbd and the bottle is 10ml it contains 10% cbd i.e. the % is the amount of cbd per ml of carrier oil. Therefore a 10ml bottle with 2000mg is considered 20% cbd. It is really easy to regulate your dose via the oil dropper (pipette) so you can begin to learn what works for you and build up your knowledge as you go.
CBD balms are commonly used for localized pain relief and the easing of discomfort, tension, inflammation and muscle soreness at the point when the salve is rubbed into the skin. It can deal with the conditions specifically underneath the skin. For instance, the individuals who suffer from joint inflammation can apply the balm directly to the affected areas to reduce swelling.
We’ve chosen 2 variants in our balms, a citrus one and a mint one. Both are lovely and fresh smelling and feel great on the skin, they rub in really well and don’t leave a greasy residue. They come with either 500mg or 1000mg of CBD and we think once you try them, you’re going to love them !
Balm dosage is slightly different as there’s no recommended dose as such, it’s usually a case of apply as and when required but as a rule of thumb, you should always consider the the amount of CBD per ml and to penetrate the skin and get to work, you should use a concentration of at least 1%.
